Community Foundation opens grant process June 1

The Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) will accept grant applications beginning June 1. Grants may be submitted for programming or capital projects. The six-week grant application deadline is July 15 at 5 p.m.

Nonprofit, 501.c.3 organizations can apply for grants by visiting the Community Foundation's website at www.communityfoundationofjohnsoncounty.org and click on "Grants from the Endowment." Grant guidelines and examples are listed online to assist applicants with their grant requests.

Applicants will be assigned a password when they start the process, which allows applicants to complete the application process in multiple phases if they are interrupted. Applicants are also required to attach a budget and financial information with the application.

The Community Foundation of Johnson County is a catalyst to build a stronger community through philanthropy. In the decade since founding, the Community Foundation of Johnson County has raised nearly $16 million in endowed assets and nearly $6 million in bequests, and distributed more than $5.8 million in grants and $603,000 in sponsor support. Additionally, charitable gifts have encouraged more than 32,460 volunteer service hours for 143 charitable giving and endowed funds to accomplish its goals – build an endowment for the greater community good.
