Golf outing ‘Charity Ball’ benefits local nonprofits

The fourth annual "Charity Ball Drop" at the annual golf outing of the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) offers unique opportunities to fund nonprofit organizations.

The Community Foundation's annual Tee Off for Philanthropy | Team Up for Community golf outing will be held at Brown Deer Golf Course on Monday, May, 19. The ball drop will be held at 6 p.m.

The balls dropped from a Coralville Fire Department ladder truck in front of the Brown Deer clubhouse provide raffle ticket holders chances to win if their numbered golf ball lands in or closest to the hole. The five balls will have an opportunity to win up to $7,500 in prize money. – 1st prize, $5,000; 2nd prize, $1,000; and three 3rd prizes, $500 will be awarded.

The cost of raffle tickets is $20 each, three for $50 or seven for $100. Call the Community Foundation office for information or to purchase tickets at 319.337.0483.

Nonprofit organizations benefitting from the feature and CFJC board members have sold raffle tickets this spring in support of the Charity Ball Drop.

The annual Tee Off | Team Up golf outing is the only golf tournament in the area to feature a Charity Ball drop. Many charity ball drops have been featured on YouTube videos.
