2015 Summership Scholarship program launched

United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties and the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) are pleased to announce the launch of the 2015 Summership Scholarship program. Starting with funds raised through the Herky on Parade auction, United Way and the Community Foundation are raising funds for an endowment to ensure Summership are available for kids every summer.

For 2015, the Summership Scholarhips are made possible through an investment from United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties and grants from CJFC and the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.

According to United Way Interim President & CEO, Mary Westbrook "We are so excited to launch the Summership Program. It fits with the Out-of-School Time Initiative and our Community Strategy for students to have access to year-round, high quality, enriching out-of-school programs."

Summership Scholarship applications are now available for 2015 summer camps, programs and activities. Summership Scholarships are available for the cost of the activity up to $250. Students eligible for Summership Scholarships are K-12 students from Johnson or Washington County who are eligible for Free & Reduced Lunch.
