IOWA CITY – The Community Foundation of Johnson County elected officers and appointed new board members for the 2019 fiscal year. All were installed in July.
Elected to serve three-year board terms were Robert Dvorsky, Iowa Senate – District 37, Todd Jacobson, HJR Financial, Sarah Jean Leonard, US Bank, Jason Wagoner, RSM, and Paula Weigel, University of Iowa College of Public Health.
New officers for the fiscal year, July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, are: CFJC President, Sarah Maiers US Bank; CFJC Vice President, Charlie Nusser, Hands Jewelry; CFJC Secretary, Sarah Richardson, Barker Apartments; and CFJC Treasurer Dean Price, Retired - RSM.
Retiring board members, Nancy Richardson, Dick Schwab and Steve Weeber, were recognized for their contributions and service to the organization.
CFJC Executive Director Shelly Maharry said, “Our board members provide vital leadership to help the Community Foundation grow and award funds that benefit the Johnson County community. Their service, commitment, as well as their individual skills, expertise and guidance these community-minded leaders provide the foundation is essential to our initiative to serve the community.”
The Community Foundation of Johnson County advances philanthropy by connecting those who care with those who need. The Foundation administers $28 million in assets and has distributed more than $11 million in grants. Through our work, CFJC supports more than 200 nonprofit organizations, family funds and community fund affiliates to grow philanthropy for the greater community good . . . for good . . . forever.
