Coralville Community Fund votes to affiliate with the Community Foundation of Johnson County

The newly formed Coralville Community Fund has become an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Johnson County, under new Federal provisions for foundation activities.

“The Coralville Community Fund was established by local residents as a means to accept donations to improve the Coralville community. As part of the matching fund program, the Coralville Community Fund now has not only an endowment building program, but also a charitable giving program to help with current community needs and activities,” said, Keith Jones, Chair of the newly formed Coralville Community Fund Board of Trustees...

“ Our Board of Trustees is convinced that by becoming an affiliate of the larger Community Foundation of Johnson County, Coralville will have access to grant programs and more importantly an endowment program to help our community with its future programing.” Jones said.

Serving the new Fund as Vice Chair is Rex Brandstatter, Lynn Synder will serve as Treasurer and Chuck Coulter will serve as Secretary. Other Board members include: Tom Barbee, Henry Herwig, Chuck Skaugstad, Jr., Tami Gorvin, and Maggie Kiewiet.

“Community Affiliate Funds are a new program for the State of Iowa,” stated Mike Stoffregen, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Smaller groups and organizations typically do not have the expertise to professionally manage their endowment funds. The Community Foundation Affiliate Fund Program helps groups not only manage their funds, but also helps build their endowment program as part of broader Foundation marketing efforts,” Stoffregen added.

Donors and volunteers interested in helping support these efforts can do so by sending their contribution to the Community Foundation of Johnson County, 325 East Washington, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.
