Shelter House Endows Fund with Community Foundation.

Shelter House of Iowa City has created an endowed fund within the Community Foundation of Johnson County.

“The endowment provides stability for the organization and enables the Board of Directors to plan for the future. The Board is grateful for the gift that allowed Shelter House to create this endowment fund within the Community Foundation of Johnson County,” said Dottie Persson, Shelter House Board President.Shelter House programs serve hundreds of Iowa City and Johnson County individuals each year. The mission of Shelter House is to meet the short-term needs of men, women, and children who are homeless in our community and through partnership, work with them to achieve maximum possible independence. Shelter House offers, emergency and short-term transitional shelter, an evening drop-in center, security deposit assistance, life skills training, employment and housing placements and comprehensive case management services.
